Open university studies - open to everyone
Open university studies are courses from the University of Turku’s degree programmes. You can choose studies from different fields according to your own interest. Most of the studies offered are basic-level studies taught in Finnish. In addition to that, we also organize studies in English. In order to complete the courses you must already have a good command of English.
You can participate in open university studies with different goals: qualifications needed at the labour market, upgrading previous education or self-development. Open university studies also provide one with an idea of the nature of university studies and help one to prepare for academic degree studies.
Open university studies are arranged in cooperation with the faculties of the university. Individual courses taught in English are carried out as classroom studies at the University of Turku or as online courses. The learning requirements correspond to those of equivalent degree studies. The degree cannot be completed with open university studies, but the credits can be included in a university degree.
